Gold foil

My relationship to gold foil is about the same as my relationship to cigar boxes. An intense love/hate kinda thing.

The rewards are worth the pain…possibly even outweighing it, I suppose, which is a pretty big statement when one considers just how much pain I’m referencing here. (It’s a lot. I don’t often have the patient, careful and determined demeanor one crucially needs to work with this temperamental stuff but I started covering some cigar boxes in it several months ago and then decided to put it to good use on some of our framed art we’ll have for sale at @odditiesandcuriositiesexpo this year.)

I actually created our first gold foil piece back in 2021 but it was so challenging I ditched it until recently deciding it was time to lose my damn mind all over again.
