Tricolor Carpenter Bee

You wanted me to fly. You wanted the honey and the flower. I wanted forever.

Our second in this series of 2D photo collage on metallic paper presented in a shadow box frame with a real insect. This one is a tricolor carpenter bee! 🐝

The Body of a Flower collage series was created utilizing Karl Blossfeldt’s stunning photographs of magnified plant surfaces from the early 20th century in conjunction with (often modern, public domain) insects and historical nudes from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Body of a Flower: Honeybee is a human-created digital photo collage utilizing the below sources:

Phacelia tanacetifolia (Lacy Phacelia) enlarged 4 times from Urformen der Kunst by Karl Blossfeldt. Photograph. 1928
